I was recently contacted by Jolie Beauty to review their Cruelty Free and Vegan Faux Mink Lashes. After previously working with Jolie Beauty when reviewing their Glitter Bomb Dot Com Palette (which is amazing) I couldn’t refuse!
I don’t wear false eyelashes a lot, I think the last time was May 2019 when I celebrated my friends birthday and had a baby free night with Kee. However, I have been wanting to experiment with different looks and use false eyelashes. This has partially been influenced from watching various makeup videos on social media and having not a lot all else to do. Hence when I was contacted by Jolie Beauty to do a review for their Faux Mink Lashes, I jumped at the chance.
The sets of 4D Luxury Faux Mink Lashes I received were part of the Lash Bundle Offer – The Lash Lover IV which included the pairs; Lillie, Vivienne, April and Melody. I also received the Lash Lock glue to use with the lashes.
Upon receiving the delivery I was highly impressed with the packaging for the eyelashes. They have a really clean look to them, it is clear what lashes they are, shows they are vegan and cruelty free (which is important to know for me). Want to know what the best part is of the packaging? It is iridescent! This was definitely my favourite aspect of the packaging! But let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little bit of rainbow?
Lillie
The first set I wanted to try was Lillie as these seemed like ones that could be used for an everyday look. These felt quite nice before I put them on as they were quite soft and didn’t have that fake plastic feeling. I struggled a little with these first (mostly because it has been over a year since I tried false eyelashes) but then managed after several attempts. These looked quite natural on my eyes and didn’t feel irritating or heavy which I loved.
Melody
I loved the look of these lashes and how bold they looked just in the box. I love how they get thicker in intervals throughout the lash. These ones have such a long length as well which I really like (they tickle my eyebrows when I look up so I get some entertainment from this boring lockdown life). I think these would look amazing for a night out (whenever that may be again). I found it really easy to apply these lashes, so overall that mixed with the boldness I think these ones have to be my favourite, thank goodness they can be used up to 30 times!
Vivienne
I loved the gradual increase in the length of these lashes and how long the end length was. Who doesn’t love long lashes right? These were slightly difficult to apply but I think that was mostly because I used a lot of glitter on my eyes which I know not to do so close to my lash line next time. I thought these looked really good on as they were long but wispy so not massively dramatic and allowed to look more natural (even though I used bright colours but they would also be good for a natural day to day look).
April
I found these eyelashes a breeze to be honest. They are quite small compared to Vivienne and Melody but not fiddly at all. They look quite fine and natural when on, but have more of an emphasis on the outer sides of the eyes so I felt like they defined the edges of my eyes and brought them to life in a way. These would definitely be perfect for both an everyday and a dress up look.
Overall I thought these lashes were amazing with a variety in styles and being reusable up to 30 times. I also adore the fact these products are vegan and cruelty free as it brings peace of mind when using them. As someone who has little experience with lashes I found these a breeze to apply and wear. I know some of the photos show some of the lashes to be wonky and not on properly but that is down to me needing more practice. I found the Lock Lash glue to be really good quality and easy to use as well, it wasn’t fiddly and comes in an applicator tube so it can be used many times. I’ve used it at least 10 different times now and there is still loads left. The Lash Lover IV bundle is currently on sale, so if you like the look of these lashes I would highly recommend going for them as you won’t be disappointed.
